Summer Law School 2009
The first annual Summer Law School that took place from Monday 20th July 2009 - Thursday 23rd July 2009.Students from all round the United Kingdom including international students from Europe came to participate in the ground-breaking event. The Summer Law School programme allowed the students to get an interactive taster of the study of Law and developed a deeper understanding of contract, constitutional, criminal and tort law. The in-depth workshops enabled students to discuss the topics presented during the lectures, thus providing a considerable contribution to the process of learning.
Guest speakers were invited and in attendance were representatives from leading law firms such as Birkett Long LLP and Wollastons. We also invited a representative from the prestigious College of Law who provided an insight into the career paths available to those wishing to pursue a career in Law. The students were able to interact with individuals from The College of Law who are UK’s longest-established specialist provider of legal education. It is very important that students get the best out of the event, that is why the programme has been varied with not just lectures and workshops but the chance to meet and interact with the professionals.
It is important for a students to gain an advantage and stand out from others. Students have commented that "Summer Law School was an excellent insight into the field of law and it has helped them to make the decision to pursue a career in law."
A career in Law is very competitive, that is why it is essential that programmes such as The Summer Law School continues to further develop students, enhances their skills and prepares them for a career in Law. The success of this year shows the demand of students that are eager to learn outside of their curriculum and gain a dynamic edge over their peers when pursuing their career objectives and goals.
The next Summer Law School will be held in summer 2010 and promises to be even bigger and better. Apply now!
