Summer Law School classes are lively, interactive and a dynamic way to study law. The programme will run 5 sessions and workshops throughout the week.

Law of Obligation (Contract and Tort Law)
 
The role of contract law as part of the common law of obligations will be discussed in lectures. The elements of Contract law that will be covered are:
1. The Formation of Contract
2. Consideration and Form
3. Performance, Discharge & Remedies for Breach of Contract
 
The role of Tort Law as part of the common law of obligation will be discussed in lectures. The elements of Tort that will be covered are:
1.  Introduction to Tort
2. The Fundamentals of Negligence
3. Vicarious Liability

 Public Law (Constitutional  and Criminal Law)

The role of Constitutional Law as part of public law will be discussed in lectures. The elements of Constitutional Law that will be covered are:
1. The nature and sources of constitutional law
2. The basic principles of constitutionalism,
3. The rule of law and the separation of powers.
 
The role of Criminal Law as part of public law will be discussed in lectures. The elements of Criminal Law that will be covered are:
1. Fundamental principles of Criminal Law
2.  Law of Homicide
3. Crimes of Violence and Crimes against Property

Legal Skills and Legal research

This module is designed to allow students to develop legal skills. There are three elements to the module:
1. An introduction to legal methods and legal study skills.
2. To provide practice in the development of a number of key skills, in particular: locating and applying relevant statutory and case-law materials to legal issues
3. an introduction to the professional ethics.
